CUSTOMER PROPRIETARY NETWORK INFORMATION (CPNI)

Foothills Telephone Cooperative (FRTC) knows the importance of personal privacy to our members. FRTC keeps all account information strictly confidential to the fullest extent possible and uses industry-accepted technology to safeguard customer data. Recent changes in federal law concerning telecommunications companies regulate the use of account information in sales and marketing campaigns and further impose restrictions on our ability to release information about your customer data.

To what kind of information are we referring?

This information, legally referred to as Customer Proprietary Network Information (CPNI) includes data such as which long distance carrier you have chosen, what calling features you use and which calling plans, if any, to which you may be subscribed as well as the numbers you call.

How can we use this information?

FRTC can use CPNI for purposes of maintaining your account and services as well as for advising you about innovative communications services or new communications technology and products. We DO NOT sell or share this information to any other company.

Who will be able to use this information?

Only FRTC will. We do not share this information for purposes other than managing your account and will limit our own use of this information for marketing services to only those services to which you currently subscribe unless you give us permission to make additional offers available to you.

Will FRTC protect my information?

Yes!! You have the right, and we have the duty, under federal law, to protect the confidentiality of CPNI. Therefore, regardless of whether you consent, or not, to allowing us to continue providing you with marketing and educational mailings, your account information will be treated confidentially.

In addition, recent federal rules for CPNI may require us to request additional information before we can discuss your account with you or anyone else. While these changes may limit our ability to be as responsive as we'd like, they are designed to help us further protect your information.

What action is necessary on my part to show consent?

No action on your part is necessary. We will ask you before we use your CPNI to market new products and services and you will always have the option to decline at that time.

What if I do not consent?

You can contact us using the contact information below and indicate that you are withdrawing your approval of our use of your CPNI. You may miss the opportunity to learn of new, innovative service proposals, new packaging that could reduce your monthly bill, new lower rates on services such as long distance, internet, DSL, and other information that keeps you informed of the happenings of your local cooperative.

If I consent, can I change my mind?

Yes. You can contact us at any time. Until you do so, your consent is valid.
